On behalf of all of us at Selah Mountain Ministries I would like to welcome you to our web site. We believe that the Bible provides thorough guidance and instruction for faith and life. Therefore, our ministry bases its outreach, faith, and practice only on Biblical principles. While we serve as an outreach of Selah Mountain Baptist Church, our ministries are available to anyone regardless of denomination or religious affiliation.

At Selah Mountain Ministries, we know first hand the importance of Biblical literacy in providing a positive influence in our lives, our families, and our culture. We have seen the harmful effects of what happens when the practical teachings of the Bible that have worked for thousands of years have been abandoned in a search for what is claimed to be a better way. Lives are shattered, families are broken, and our culture is heading toward a meltdown.

Our Mission: Our mission is different than most churches. We are not a "wait and see" church: Wait until Sunday and see how many people show up. Our focus is on the lives we can positively impact throughout the whole week that will make a difference both inside and outside the walls of our ministry. While we will always strive to share the gospel or good news of Jesus Christ, beyond that, our primary outreach is in the areas of Biblical counseling, Christian Education, and Pastoral care.

Our Outreach:

  • First is our Biblical counseling ministry. This is where we work with individuals, couples, families, and small groups teaching them the practical lessons from the Bible that will help them to overcome their unique life issues.

  • Second is our Christian education ministry. This is where we offer training in two primary areas. Our Christian Living training is designed to help people in areas like parenting or marriage seminars, Christ-centered tutoring, or other topics. Our Biblical Studies training is designed to help people better know their Bible, how to minister to others, and other theological topics.

  • Third is our pastoral care ministry. This is where we offer a variety of services. We offer Christian wedding services; end of life pastoral care and funeral services; pastoral visitation and care to those who are shut-ins; and other needed services requiring a minister.

Our Vision: We hope, Lord willing, that Selah Mountain Ministries will become a ministry that offers services that positively impact our community and helps to train others to minister in their churches in ways that positively impact their communities. Ultimately, we hope that our ministry will be a positive testimony of what Biblical Christianity is supposed to be and in doing so, we glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

Pastor Mike discovered the truth of salvation by reading the Bible and trusted Christ in 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was called to full-time ministry in 1999 at Gospel Light Baptist Missions, in Mangalore, India while serving as a short term missionary. He was ordained at Heritage Baptist Bible Church in Walnut Grove, Minnesota after which he served as a senior pastor of churches in both Minnesota and Ohio.

Pastor Mike holds under-graduate through post graduate degrees in Christian Education; is a graduate of the US Army Academy of Health Sciences Nursing Program; Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Academy; and holds a military teaching certifi-cation. He has taught pediatric nursing at the US Army Academy of Health Sciences and has served as a Christian School Princi-pal and teacher over the course of his career.

Michael and his wife Pam first came to Albuquerque, New Mexico in July 2009. By December of 2009 they saw the need for a Bible-believing disciple-making ministry. They returned to their home church,First Baptist Church of Jackson in Massillon, Ohio, where they were commissioned as missionaries to start a work in Albuquerque.

Upon the advice and counsel of the pastors at First Baptist and a fellow missionary, the ministry was started in the Northeast Heights area of the city. By April 1, 2011 Selah Mountain Baptist Church was born where Pastor Mike and Pam serve.
